Glamorous Indian Fusion Wedding at Historic Willard Hotel in DC

O

Our couple held their wedding and reception at the stunning Willard Hotel in Washington DC. With the bride and groom coming from different religious and cultural backgrounds there were two ceremonies and a reception to tie it all together. There was a Christian ceremony held at the Immaculate Concept Church adorned with 4 oversized gold vases with a lush bouquet of white flowers and a draped chiffon aisle. The bride held a cascading bouquet of lilacs, calla lilies and stephanotis blooms with a cobalt blue ribbon for the groom’s favorite color. After the ceremony, everyone returned to the Willard for the Hindu wedding ceremony. A complete change of florals, color, environment, and outfits was designed to keep transitions between events exciting. The groom absolutely did not want any greenery so we came to a compromise with an antique gold gilded eucalyptus to be used as the texture through the florals for the ceremony and reception at the Willard. Centerpieces from the reception were used to line the sides of the aisle, leading up to a classic gold pillar Mandap filled with white cherry blossom and suspended glass globes with tealight candles in the ceiling. Guests moved from the afternoon ceremony to the reception after a cocktail hour where 8’ tall arrangements sat atop narrow glass vases with cascading florals, gold gilded foliage and white roses created a luxurious ambiance amongst candle light. The stage for the bride and groom featured a 16’ width floral wall with floating shelves filled with pillar candles. The right and left side of the feature wall were accented with the oversized gold vase floral arrangements from the Christian ceremony at the church.
