I've had such a wonderful opportunity to work with such talented people in the industry to really bring out the best in one another. I had the pleasure of working with the Westin in Alexandria, a beautiful property located in Old Town Alexandria with such a stunning entrance and lobby. The shoot took place in one of their ballrooms with the talented Irene Abdou capturing all the beauty. Linens, china and chair rentals by Party Rental Ltd. and delicious Indian/Pakistani food catered by Washington Parties. It was a total Fab Collab!
I wanted to do something bright with Spring colors but still keep it soft somehow. So we've got the bright salmon colored roses, fuschia stock, and these gorgeous sweetest smelling bloomed branches that have completely stolen my heart (I will be using these A LOT this season), gardenia glossy leaves and vines which brought the whimsy out to play. The lace brought in a little softness, grapewood at the base and just lots of amber glow from the candle light. I almost felt like this was a Jurassic park gala with the earth tones, greens and wood. But I was just in love.
You can feel the moisture in the air when you are using fresh floral's as opposed to silk even just sitting around the table. there's just something about using earth elements and the feeling you get being near water and fresh greens. I'll let you take a look before I start sounding too much like Captain Planet :). Enjoy!
In the following arrangement we used lot's of greens, I LOVE! Gardenia greens, Veronica and Protea blooms, my absolute favorite! Just bizarre enough to keep you staring but just so beautiful in it's own way. King Protea's have this amazing velvety texture with a natural ombre, it's just delicious.
